I needed ears!

One of the things I needed to show off some of my earrings on etsy was some ear models. It helps show the scale of the earrings as well as what they look like on your ear. As you might have seen on my previous blogs I previously have taken pictures of myself, but this takes a lot of trial and error as you have to point and hope without looking.

So last night one of my friends come round to lend me hear ear for a little earring photoshoot! It was very funny, experimenting with where strands of hair go, lighting and trying to get here to stand still enough for the earrings not to wave around!

So a big thank you to Claire, I paid her with her favourite pair of my earrings. She chose the two tone roses, which are one of my favourites too. I will be adding the photos to my listings shortly.

Etsy!

I finally did it. I have put some of my earrings up for sale in my own etsy shop. It's so exciting! Obviously it's very early days at the moment but I am aiming to add a new design every week at least.

Just click here to go and take a little look.

And I am just about to put up a pair of my little brick earrings that I originally made last year for sale. I hope someone will love them as much I do! (Here's the original blog)

I have spent the last week working out my pricing and delivery charges and getting everything perfect before I wrote my first blog about it!

I have so far added my Fantastique Flower Pots, Clipping Earrings and some variations of my first Flower Earrings made with both my original lilac foam roses and some gorgeous two tone roses as well.

Clippings and Cameras

So in preparation for opening my etsy shop I have been creating some new earrings and these I think are some of my favourites, and will be available to buy from etsy in the next few days. My favourite thing about them is that they are so simple and light.

Perfect for anyone who is a bit of a book worm, like me, these clippings give you just a few words from the pages they have been taken from. But still gives you enough to get the book page feel.

And these map clippings are a bit more on the colourful side... and I love them. What makes them even more interesting is the different parts of the map each give a slightly different look.

One of the things I have been experimenting with on creating the listings on etsy has been the photos of the earrings I make, but I am definitely getting better as I go! My wonderful camera, a sony NEX 3, makes it easy to take amazing pictures with the styles and effects you want without having to know all the technical terms and technics. So I can just point and shoot or play with the settings and experiment.

Fickle Findings!

So after a long break I have had a bit of a rebrand. My new name Fickle findings is inspired by the little bits and pieces that make jewellery. Having finished university and started the year out job hunt I am going to start an etsy shop selling some of my earrings. It's early days right now but I have a few new ideas and am going to be setting everything up in the next few days. I will be posting new earrings and updates on my shop very very soon.
