Houghton House was a much more formal site of a ruin and therefore it was more busy, but we got to have the ruin to ourselves after a little while which was amazing. The setting was so pretty with an amazing view. The house is made of brick which is one of my favourite materials, I always think its a shame they have kind of gone out of fashion in some of the architecture world.

My favourite thing about this building was all the different levels of windows, you could see fireplaces and doors up at first and second floor level and it was so interesting! The different materials, textures and colours made the building sooo beautiful. I want to live here, create a mad building that integrates into the ruin.

This is me, my amazing friends and my boyfriend who I managed to drag on my ruin hunt, on a whim one day this summer, and who saved me when I got stuck climbing in silly places.
This house would have been so beautiful if it wasn't in ruin which makes the whole thing site feel a bit sad but at the same time its so beautiful and amazing just like it is!
